Bio | Jean-Marie POIRIER has studied the lute and the baroque guitar with Javier HINOJOSA and at master classes with Hopkinson SMITH. As a concert musician he appears in duet (A Due Liuti), in consort (Le Trésor d’Orphée and other early music ensembles), and he has played in lots of places in France and abroad, and made several recordings. He also works as a continuo musician with ensembles like London Pro Cantione Antiqua, Ensemble Jacques Moderne (Tours), Ensemble Vocal de l’Abbaye aux Dames (Saintes), La Simphonie du Marais, etc. He appears in the film by Alain Corneau «All the Mornings of the World» (Tous les matins du monde) as the tutor of the daughters of Sainte-Colombe. His research on music of the XVIth and XVIIth centuries provide material for the repertoire of Le Trésor d’Orphée and are published by Cornetto Verlag, Stuttgart. |
