Viola da Mano by Alexander Batov

6-course Viola da Mano, built by Alexander Batov after the Girolamo dai Libri model in 2012.

Back and neck of maple, parchment rose and decorative inlays.

String length is 57cm, works well in standard G- and A-tunings, with fingers for Renaissance pieces or plectrum for earlier repertoires.

It’s a wonderful instrument I’ve enjoyed playing for years, only selling it because I quit music for another profession.

Comes with custom-fitted Kingham double-case.
