5 course medieval vihuela by Andrew Schmid

For Sale

Dear friends, I sell a beautiful five course late medieval/early renaissance vihuela made by Andrew Schmid in Manchester.

It is a small instrument with a really beautiful sound and great power, ideal for playing the late medieval or early renaissance repertoire in consort, as well as, of course, as a solo instrument. It is very comfortable and easy to play. European Spruce top, back of curly maple, sides of maple. Parchment rosette, two inlays cut out on the top and another two painted at both ends of the bridge. Strung with gut. It has a repaired shallow crack on one side (which never affected the great sound of the vihuela) and the varnish somewhat worn out in some parts.
