Updated COVID policy for Lute Fest 2022
Hello all, as part of an updated COVID policy we are going to be instituting the following protocol for this year’s Lute Fest at Case Western. It is absolutely essential that all of you attending follow these directions, no exceptions:
- All participants will be required to show proof of a negative COVID test dated no more than 36 hours ahead of the start of the festival. This needs to be a test administered by a doctor or health care professional (like most pharmacies have been doing as well as every doctor since the start of COVID). It can be a rapid or PCR test. You will be required to print out the results and bring to registration OR email me the results at lsafestivaldirector@gmail.com.
- All participants will be required to wear a proper mask at all times inside the buildings and classrooms, specially when social distancing is not possible. When you are eating in the dining hall you should follow the policy of the dining hall. The masks you use need to be proper medical masks and/or N95 masks or their equivalent. Cloth masks have been proven not to prevent the spread of COVID and should not be used.
- Everyone needs to pack a self COVID-19 test kit in their suitcase. If there is the onset of any COVID-like symptoms you should test yourself immediately with the test kit you have brought for yourself.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
These steps are going to be the most mitigating steps we can take to protect everyone at Lute Fest. We appreciate everyone’s full cooperation with these policies and the LSA will do our best to provide masks and hand sanitizer, but please do your best to provide these materials for yourself as well. As this is an International Festival, we all need to do our best to help keep each other comfortable and safe. As we come out of the pandemic, we would like to safely get back to a life where we can share our passion for the lute, and it’s music, with each other.
One last item, if you have ANY symptoms or aren’t feeling well prior to arriving in Cleveland, and you think might be related to COVID, please contact us right away. You can contact me at the same email, or call/text me at (631)741-9838. Consider not coming if this is the case, whether you have tested positive or not. We will try our best to be flexible in reimbursement if it comes to this.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you!
