Are you feeling inspired to learn more about early Are you feeling inspired to learn more about early music this summer? Amherst Early Music will take place in Muhlenberg College Allentown, PA  July 2nd to 16th. Amherst Early Music Festival will classes, for many early instruments. The Lute Fest East  component will includes classes taught by Grant Herreid, Chris Morrongiello, Ronn McFarlane & Jason Priset.

Online Lute Fest - Faculty Paul Beier graduated i Online Lute Fest - Faculty

Paul Beier graduated in 1978 from the Royal College of Music with a degree in Lute Performance under Diana Poulton. In 1980 he was invited to Milan to create a lute course for the Early Music Institute at the Scuola Civica di Musica (now called SCM Claudio Abbado), where he taught for 40 years.  His 16 solo CDs include music by Capirola, da Milano, Terzi, Piccinini, Galilei, Dowland, Reusner, Weiss, and Bach. Paul has published historical lute research in The Lute, the Lutezine, the LSA Quarterly and Journal. He has also written lute related software for stringing and fretting the lute, and for editing and transcribing lute tablature.

We invite all students under 35 years of age, who have the dedication to study early plucked instruments to apply. We encourage individuals who have invested effort and are committed to early music to submit their applications.
