From the President...

The election to fill the seats of 3 outgoing Board members is now over, results from 337 votes are in. I am delighted to welcome to the Board: Gary Boye, Ryan Closs, and Jeffrey Noonan. Each one has much to offer in terms of experience and expertise in areas we are steeped in developing. Gary has already been invaluable in overseeing the facsimile collection; and Ryan has tremendous energy around developing local chapters, having set one up in New York. It was a very strong slate of candidates and I thank David Dolata and Cory Gavito for being willing to run. I hope they will stand again in a future election.

And finally, a public thank you to outgoing Board members: Ronn McFarlane, Kate Benessa and Joe Harris. We have been so well served by their wise counsel. We all owe a debt of gratitude for what we have been able to accomplish with their help. Start with all the planning necessary to begin the design of a new website, what it should have, be able to do, and who to do it. Then to the great pages focussed on the teachings of Pat O’Brien. If you haven’t been to those pages, GO! Your playing and practicing will be transformed, with or without repetitive stress syndrome! And the growing interest in establishing local chapters. So thank you Ronn, Kate and Joe!

The LSA has started a new Lutes for Sale List !

This is the new place to list lutes, theorbos, baroque guitars, citterns, archlutes, medieval lutes, etc., for sale. Anyone can add instruments to this list if they are selling a lute or other lute-family instrument. This is NOT the place to list classical guitars or viols. (There are much better places to sell these and other instruments.) If you would like to add your lute to the list click here:

Lutes For Sale

The lute community thanks Wayne Cripps for all the years he provided an online listing of Lutes For Sale, Lutes Wanted and Stolen Instruments as well as the first LSA website. A lot of instruments were sold! Many thanks Wayne!
